Jim Tobin
CCNP, CCDP, CCVP, CCIP, Cisco Certified Academy Instructor, MCSE, Prince2 Practitioner, MSc, BA
Hello to all you networking people out there. My name is Jim Tobin and I’ve been studying and working in networking for just over 10 years now. I started out in networking by helping to run a small windows domain for a web hosting company. This was shortly after passing some Microsoft Certified Professional qulifications on a Training for Work scheme. Shortly after joining the company I passed the CCNA and went on to help administer the company’s Cisco based network infrastructure. I have also ran, and been an instructor, in a successful community IT academy, that housed both a Cisco and Microsoft Academy. During my time at the community academy I was lucky enough to help many unemployed people train in IT, pass certifications and find employment. I have since held senior positions in network engineering, network design, management and project management with some great companies. I have also been lukcy to work in large global enterprise networks, ISP networks, large scale data centres and large scale voice implementations. I have implemented networks in many countries and leared from some fantastic people. For the last few years I have worked as a freelancer and contractor in the UK. I am currently studying towards the CCIE Routing and Switching certifications. I hope that the articles on CCIEUK Academy can help others achieve their certification goals, as well as provide some real world advice for thos working in the field. Nessie Oswald
CCNP, Cisco Certified Academy Instructor
Hi all, I’m Nessie Oswald and I currently teach the CCNA Exploration at a thriving IT community academy. My journeys began in early 2000, whilst at college I discovered Cisco, and basically I’ve never looked back since, and still remain very passionate about everything that Cisco do. I then went on to work as a e-catalogue manager, basically creating business to business web portal’s, where I was very fortunate to work with some incredible people. Now been at the Cisco academy for over 4 years, where I assist students to gain the CCNA certification, which is very rewarding. On a personal achievement I’ve managed to gain the CCNP in the last year which has been very rewarding and self satisfactory and also gives my students encouragement to progress through the Cisco Network Program. Currently I’m studying towards the CCVP certification and I’m going to begin with the CVOICE (642-436) first. But my ultimate goal is to gain the CCIE R&S certification. Again I hope that I can offer some help in other’s progressing towards their certification goal. So feel free to contact me anytime on nessie@ccieuk.com
